Marianne Joiner-Hughes is a child, adult and family creative arts therapist and psychoanalyst who practices in NYCa. During the past 7 years, Marianne has incorporated role play, free associations, dreaming and art process into therapeutic formulations in the dyadic work, while drawing upon 15 years of combined experience within the fields of social work, creative arts therapies and psychoanalysis. Marianne has become increasingly fascinated by working relationally and the increase in eureka or "I found it" moments that change both the moment itself and the course of treatment. This process is the confluence of working fluidly between old constructions, memories and especially trauma, and the unconscious, co-created repetitions in real time. She often acknowledges the impact of the role of the therapist on treatment. She often acknowledges the impact of the role of the therapist on treatment, and other destructive and constructive influences on the here and now, abiding by the idea that even one's alone state is co-created.
